Rice milk

Here is how I make rice milk:

  • 1 Cup of cooked rice (white or brown, short or long grain)
  • 4 Cups of water

Note: If you want it thicker, you can put in more rice or decrease the water. I have also added a bit of honey or sugar to sweeten it. Adding a small piece of a vanilla bean or just some of the scrapings prior to blending adds a nice vanilla flavor.

Process: Put it in a blender on high for a good while. I try to stop and start it a few times. Straining is optional, and it will be obvious if it needs it. I let the chunks settle to the bottom and use them in something else.
